We can call it the rotten society.Where is the independence we fought for?.where did we go wrong?.I wish there were answers.
For so long we called for democracy and here it came but in a different format. Was is it only for the rich? The plutocracy of it really defines it.The middle-class and the poor society left in a puzzle.Call the "Man Eat Man Society". They are savages ready to feed on every human flesh. We find it difficult to escape from this cocoon that we found ourselves in.
Jommo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki. These are names that Kenyans can never forget. They represented the symbol of a very highly respected country Kenya. Both have used their own methods of exercising power over their subjects. Through this process others took it positively while others felt their rights were violated.None of them could fight the so called corruption. Can we say they failed their people?.
Democracy is a government that is owned by the people. This is exercised by a popular vote through the ballot box.People choose the leaders they want to rule over them. The leaders are expected to rule with a lot of wisdom with no prejudice.Every person is seemed equal to another under the laws of the constitution.
Ironically, the same leader's have turned against the people. We pay taxes to feed their stomachs, while we have nothing to pay for our bills. The name Corruption is everywhere. When you speak you will be shut down obviously. We have left them to ooze in pain.I guess its because of the saying that "If you pay homage to those on top,you will also be given when its your time to be on top.''I guess that's why corruption will never end.
The country is left jumbled up by this corrupt habit. Some feel happy when others are subjected in pain, not knowing what tomorrow be-folds them.We see people protesting daily on the streets, teachers, parents, students, public workers...name them. But still no change is seen.
But do we give up?where there's a will there's a way. Each and every person should be held responsible. From the top government officials to the lowest(people)strict rules should be put in place to reduce this unruly corrupt people.Everyone has failed in playing his or her part actively.
We should never forget the word's of our national anthem " Justice be our shield and defender. "Let justice be practiced through the courts that our constitution has put in place.Call a spade a spade but not a big spoon. We should expose the corrupt individuals and prevent them from holding any public facilities.
We still have a young fresh government that if we support it fully all will be well.We should not not bury our heads in the sand, instead we should face it head on until its over.Though the walk is tougher we should never give up.
