How to become a great artist.

Another platform to help our Kenyan artists .Kenyan artists  tend to hit for a short season and after that they go back to their cocoons. Few of our artists have made it big in the outside world  a good example sautisol,Octopizzo and maybe others.Their has been a great debate between Kenyan deejays and artists on who is not doing what.Ooh.."they don't play our songs.....you must pay them to play them.."  Claims one artist in Kenya.

It is not the secular artists that are faced with this battle but also gospel artists.Good music for pays and i also believe that if you don't have the talent just quit. The industry is not also ready for non-performers.People want quality  music. Can Kenyans compete naija in making hit songs.Their songs are really selling in our  market and Kenyans have warmly received them because of originality.Im ready to play a Yemi Alade or whiz kid song because of the African beat.

Making it in the music industry and remaining on the top is very hard and requires a lot of perseverance. In simple terms do you want to hit or miss? Every artist should follow the advice below and not only from me but also from the fans ,big  producers and also other famous artists.

 1:Do a thorough background study.
Do your own research on what suites you best. What are other artists doing? What is the trending beats and style rather the current style.Atleast know a lot songs and compare them to yours.

 2:Is it a hit or a miss.
One problem artist have is that they record a song and after that they want it played in the radio the next day.A bad producer will produce you  audio and video in order to make money. He will not care wether the song is nice or not. When to know your song is a hit or a miss i very simple. Give your friends a chance to listen to your music before you release.Atleast they find simple mistakes and correct you.A hit song will definitely capture many audience attention. In simple terms,Good vocals, nice and simple lyrics, nice beats also should accompany your song.

3:Invest  in your Videos.
Money has been a greater challenge mostly to upcoming artists, but remember music is all About competition. Nice videos cost much. The higher the quality of your video the higher the chance of it getting played on air.People love to view and download quality stuff.Get the best video producers that will make your work neat.

4:Find your audience.
Its better for know what your audience likes.Your music should capture at least 90% of your audience.A good example we have genge music, bongo and hip hop music.Genge music do well in Kenya because of the audience who understand kiswahili and well and also want to dance with the tune.Hiphop music is not liked by mangy but at least find a place that suites you.

5:Discipline
This should be practiced by every artist. In order to grow big you should be discipline i.e accept to be corrected ,avoid beef with other artists, obey your fans and this will make you more successful.

Remember the studio that you choose to work with also matters alot.Talk of still alive,Grandpa records, pacho entertainment, all these some of the best recording labels but choose and work with one so as to help find your content. A good studio will also help you to market your songs and also get signed in.

Further more artists should find their own brand to market themselves. If every artists follows the advice above his/her song will be ready on my phone playlist. You don't  need to pay a DJs to play your songs to hit,but rather have a good song and they will always play it.As i wrap with a Swahili saying "Kizuri chajiuza kibaya chajitembeza".

Adiós !!
